217 - "Who am I being when (simulating) attacking someone with a knife?"
A reader self reflects about training
“Through our own “who, where, what, when, how and why” filters (we) sometimes draw unintended conclusions. The “who” question when referring to me as bad guy is flipping my brain a bit. Who *am* I being when (simulating) attacking someone with a knife? I find myself spending quite a lot of time thinking “would I…?”.”
Any serious study of self defence will illicit these types of questions in a healthy person. The subject matter is for all but then again, it’s not for everyone.
