The above quote will make sense later but first, please read article #1 first to familiarise yourself with the first set up and solution before reading on.

In the previous step we looked at the common single arm block solution to the common right hand haymaker hook punch to the right side of the head.

We also looked at what can go wrong with that, what may happen next and possible solutions.

The next idea is the same set up but the initial defence is, rather than the single arm block, the common tactic of “doomsday” covering the left side of the head. This is an effective, simple idea that is widely taught in “Combatives” and martial arts systems like Krav Maga.
