This is the first in a ten part serialisation on the journal. The remaining three chapters are found in the print version “Blunt weapon tactics” (Click to visit Amazon), which feature home training and supplemental skill instructions as well as twelve full progressing scenarios and also scenario training advice and the shock simulation drill.
Here's an issue that came up in a private workshop about two different tactics involving a stick or blunt impact weapon being used to capture the neck of an attacker.
Despite being quite similar at first encounter to some newer trainees, they can have slightly different effects. The placement of the stick however can cause a bit of confusion so here's a description with photos of the two tactics (no set ups or context etc), some definitions and a quick way to remember them for faster retention.
Weapon used is a 28 inch rattan stick for training that could represent a walking stick or other physically similar UK legal item.
