Here's an idea I came up with to use myself as a conditioner and also for students who might have the habit of dropping their hands either while sparring or when kick training. It also applies to creating a stricter defence for dealing with a knife attack as well as fighting in general.

Application

The following applies to drilling that simulates an already underway fight – its important to keep your hands up at all times if possible. It's very common to just go though the motions of practicing defensive kicks on pads and shields and allow the habit of dropping the hands to set in.

Pay extra attention to this and make sure you aren't doing it.
