324 - Free street safety training for your teenager
Dear parent or guardian,
due to a large number of enquiries from concerned parents about local incidents, I am now offering heavily discounted self protection training for secondary school aged children and teenagers.
I run a Tuesday night workshop every week in Stroud, Gloucestershire (click for venue), designed to offer a range of simple and quick to learn solutions to avoid or escape realistic situations including predatory assault when walking alone and also knife crime.
Content is focused on self defence and personal safety only.
There is no art or sport to learn.
Please click the student information link at the bottom of this page to see full details of the weekly workshop. Scroll down to sections 5 -7 for weekly workshops.
Who can attend?
Anyone of secondary school age (11 - 18 years) may now attend the mixed adults Tuesday workshop in the company of a parent or guardian who must train with them due to the nature of the content.
When?
Every Tuesday night. Workshops start at 7pm.
Please arrive 10 mins early for a prompt start.
Where?
The Lansdown Hall and Gallery, central Stroud. (Main hall - left hand, office entrance and up the stairs).
How much?
Each pair (one adult plus one child) train together for the total discounted price of only £12.
This is discounted from the usual drop in price of £12 per person, so your child trains with you for free.
To book:
Simply pay at the door (please bring correct money) or book ahead with E - Bank (please email for details).
No contract / No joining fee / No uniform, sports, style etc.
Price stated is for one adult and one child. If you have more than one child, it's fine for them to also attend but each one needs an adult guardian to accompany and train partner skills with them which is charged separately (£12).
All workshops are varied in content with different topics looked at every week.
We have friendly, mixed groups with a focus on a positive, fun and supportive atmosphere to learn in.
This is a perfect way for mothers, fathers or guardians to give their child the skills they need to enjoy their independence but also avoid or escape threats whilst with their friends or out out on their own.
