Work continues on dealing with survival fighting situations that has the aggressor close down from striking to grappling in an attempt to control you - here we are seeking to counter this to enable a striking finish and/ or escape.
Movement:
Footwork drills
Moving and striking
Utilising the rear and lead hands for open hand strikes in different combinations.
Some students are now able to move freeform and fire a certain strike pattern from either side. This enables them to respond and counter quicker and be harder to deal with.
Pad work:
Striking a momentarily available moving target
Different open hand combinations
Why certain strikes have an advantage and why they are less common
Conditioning:
Group work performing strike combinations at increased volume
Practicing mindset
