Welcome to the complete breakdown of this week’s workshop for paid supporters.
All sets and ideas covered can be found listed below for home practice.
If you have any questions on any item, please leave a comment and I’ll answer here or as a stand-alone article.
This workshop is the last of the current training cycle before moving on to the next stage of striking ideas from next week.
Until then, remember:

PPE
Attendees will be aware that I’m currently revising PPE and training accessory requirements, so we spent the first section going through examples of various pieces of kit and the advantages of each - when you need it / when you don’t, pros/cons, and so on.
Video confrontation
One of the guys sent me a couple of videos of a particular knife incident and we briefly discussed the main points that can offer direct learning for how to not handle similar street situations and increase your chances of getting the hell out of there without needless and risky physicality.
I plan to cover this video in an article in the coming weeks as it is very illustrative of a broad range of issues and has many useful learning points including some less-considered ones.
Content:
Mastery of both dynamic sets.
Both sets are listed for home practice.
Partner work with the sets and ideas for mixed group work.
A counter-ambush pad drill
Ideas for developing strike power and also confidence in its efficacy.
Solo practice of this cycle’s skillsets
The trainees spent time demonstrating freeform use of the tactics included in these two sets (listed below) and we worked on individual mechanics for each person.
Both sets are designed to take the fight to the aggressor and create opportunities for fast diminishment and/ or escape.
They may then be used together and randomised to form a superset for solo practice and ultimately, with a partner(s).
