Fear + full
Becoming fearful has negative and positive aspects - you are less likely to die in an evolutionary sense from some kind of basic accident while risk-taking, but the negative is that your fear can become weaponised against you either by yourself or others to control and limit your behaviour and ability to creatively problem solve your way to a better place for you and those you hold dear.
Consider this.
A guardian
Fear is a natural survival tool - I hesitate to call it a “gift” as some have already popularly done. You have it for a reason though and it is trying to protect you, a guardian in many ways. A well-meaning protector can though, also become a limiter if its influence becomes uncontrolled to the point of neurosis.
Emotional response
Recognition and memories of previous threats are communicated faster via an almost instant emotional response than by the conscious, rational part of the brain.
This is to give you the advantage of a quicker, lifesaving reaction, a very important idea to be aware of because as I mentioned before, this can be weaponised against you by outside threats seeking to make you respond emotionally rather than with critical thinking.
If I want you to do something that benefits me but not you, I could create fear and then offer you the unpalatable already planned solution to appear as an escape route.
A bit like a burglar that robs houses in your area and then cold calls the next day to sell you an alarm system you never would have bought before. I saw a report once about the opposite too, an alarm company that cased houses as they were fitting alarms and then entered again to rob the place with the benefit of the passcodes for the control box they fitted.
But I digress, here is another example:
I will leave you to think of possible examples of this that you may recognise.
