This is a new expansion module to my fourth book “Blunt Weapon Tactics” (2022) - which was written as a primer for men and women in the UK to learn the defensive use everyday objects that are around them as last potential ditch life savers against violent criminal assault and aggression.

In that book I referred to the then, social and economic realities in the UK and their implications for personal safety. This has sadly become even more relevant in the short time since it was published.

I covered real life examples of average, law abiding UK people faced with extreme violence defending their lives, their homes and their community legally, numerous drills, scenarios to use, home defence considerations, along with a section on self defence “rights” or legalities at length in the book and will touch on them again here along with contextual situations for understanding.

The following is an introduction to the crossover ideas that can be extrapolated from basic unarmed training and then used simply and quickly with varying levels of force with weapons of opportunity.

Contents:

Tactics

Training progression

Justified contexts and legalities

What to use

Deception and how to move plus a drill.

Long gun context for UK readers (moral and legal considerations)

Safety considerations

Twelve combinations and how to use them

Additional tactics

Targets

Video links for further learning

Tactics:

These are two simple tactics that anyone can learn quickly, and even if their only knowledge of training is doing martial arts moves a couple of times simply for fitness, most will know them already.

Here we consider the cross over potential of these ideas to weapon training.
