Part one: Grappling attacks plus three development drills (and notes)
From the Force Necessary course we’re looking at starting from stopping point number three: a forearm to forearm collision with your attacker.
Our interest here was to move quickly past this first contact to perform an aggressive grappling attack. These ideas aren’t generally considered quite as fully as we looked at here as the modern thinking tends to be dominated by submission type ideas due to popularity.
The first of these tactics is very effective but comes with the serious caveat that it can cause death by asphyxiation and so is to be placed under the category of lethal force options.
You will be the one dealing with the legal fallout of this - do not take this lightly! You would need to believe sincerely that you were in a life or death situation (yours and/or others) in order to justify doing this to another person.
This tactic is also very important to understand for the possibility of someone doing it to you during a struggle and I’ll talk about defensive habits in a minute.
