Intro
This is a beginner drill that introduces the correct sequence of learning body skills for countering an ambush strike within the context of an interview.
Interview means any type of verbal interaction with someone who is potentially about to harm you - whether you are aware of this… or not.
A script with a hidden agenda, if you will and you are now in the middle of auditioning for whatever they have planned.
This following material is one of several possible tactics that I cover and corresponds to a specific type of threat which we will cover in a minute.
Set up
Here I get trainees in pairs with one in the role of the aggressor and the other who will counter their actions.
The partners are to stand close enough so that they can touch each other’s faces easily with a closed fist (more details later).
Simulating physical aggression
I focus most of my training on high percentage (the most likely) things that untrained or partially trained people may do and, such as here, on things I have actually been on the receiving end of myself.
