Training diary
These are ideas that I am currently looking at for various uses within my own training research and are shared for free regularly without context so that readers can adapt, consider, and employ them in any way they wish in their own training.
The premise presented will be of some interest to me either as something I’m looking at or revisiting for my own training, workshop material or as a related example of something I may reference in passing.
Readers can find home training ideas, all content, further expansions, or alternatives that are shared in workshops in the weekly “Aide - Memoire” posts for paid supporters.
Forearm strike
This is a classic forearm striking idea that is a staple of old Juijitsu and will be looked at and expanded upon in open training soon as part of a series of ideas.
Set up
You are in a confrontation with a single aggressor.
Your hands are raised.
The aggressor grabs you violently at the upper chest area clothing with their left hand and a bent elbow that allows them to close a gap towards you.
Seize the grabbing hand with your right hand and retain control of it.
Drop your weight and deliver a descending forearm strike into the forearm of the aggressor’s grabbing arm with your left forearm.
Turn and shift down to the right as you drop your weight to avoid the possible headbutt from their head being powerfully dragged down and forward towards you.
Rechamber your left arm across to your right side.
Unwind the torso to the left and deliver a horizontal forearm to the left side of their neck/ jaw area as strongly as possible.
Rechamber and repeat this strike as many times as required to facilitate:
: a takedown if needed
: an escape.
