This sounds like an excellent way to diffuse a situation and to avoid unnecessary blood being spilt… I’m thinking this idea could potentially also be used to create a small window of opportunity with which to mount a swift and effective attack if the situation called for it.

That’s hilarious and horrifying all at once. You paint such a vivid picture, I can just see it.

I can’t help wondering how you think that might have played out if you hadn’t been there? The question I really struggle to answer is how an athletic Badboy in his late twenties could countenance attacking a man in his late 70’s? I don’t mean because it’s the wrong thing to do, but because it’s so not tough, so unbalanced, so not what you could brag to your mates about….

Thanks SG.

If I hadn't of been there and the same events unfolded, I believe that C would have been assaulted.

Attacking an elderly man is entirely logical if you believe that all others are beneath you and that any disrespect (real or perceived) must be punished.

The "King/Queen" mentality is everywhere and the weak minded buy into it body and soul.

People share and laugh at murder videos now, why not laugh with your mates about an elderly man you taught a lesson to?

I guess that’s true, and that within the narrative of people “asking for it”, all sorts of things are justified. Sounds like C wouldn’t have given Badboy the aggressive come-back he might have needed to proceed, but that even an appeal for common decency could have been perceived as enough of a challenge…

Once you are on the scripted timeline, anything you say will be a green light for a bully to proceed.
