I get that the public want to make sure that no excessive force is being used, and trust in the police has been massively damaged for many reasons in many ways, but you can just imagine the horror if the detained managed to get his knife and get free. The amount of distraction the off-duty officer is dealing with and the civility with which he is handling the detained…… it is very impressive. You can see the flashes of anger across his face but he stays very reasonable. That other lad must be very worrying to him, too.
