Tuesday 6_6_23: Special "Unarmed vs knife" workshop
This whole workshop was devoted to defending the attacks from “ Knife set: One” from my first book which you can find here (click on the title below for Amazon link):
Self Defence: Articles and conversations from The One In One Journal - Vol. 1
This very seemingly simple set is learned first prior to all unarmed knife defence training.
The attacks are very specific from research and are designed to give a new student the fastest understanding of common attacks possible in a very compressed timeframe.
We studied a complete overview of efficient and effective counters to these attacks along with an understanding of the situational context that they might realistically happen within.
The goal is to remove dithering and doubt from trainees and empower them FAST with a foundation set of skills they can use straight away and then build upon to deal with modern UK realities.
Understand the attack from all perspectives
Understand what will and will not work to counter it
Build these skills
Understand and recognise key moments to capitalise upon
Countering and escape
Experience it full speed
We’ll now move forward with more unarmed and also counter weapon work with these skills as an underpinning.
Well done to everyone that took part, a broad mix of people and abilities all able to quickly replicate the ideas.
Thanks for the hard work, Jeth
