This review of the book’s content dovetailed with the scenario drills that were looked at in this week’s workshop: The way that the presence of a knife profoundly changes the approach you take to defend yourself during an assault.

It was interesting as one of the comments last night was about why not just close the gap to wrap and assault the aggressor before or as he is drawing the knife.

The potential problem with this as a default reaction (and it’s a big one) was explored and practiced using the following drills that replicate an off-script set up.
